A 396-PAGE investigative report has found that the kit man for Ghana’s national team was paid $100,000 (€89,400).
That’s the exact same amount as the players, coaches and medical staff received according to a government report seen by the BBC.
The ‘ball boy’ in question was the equipment officer for the team, with Ismail Hamidu only having to prepare the team for three games following their first round exit in Brazil.
The ‘Black Stars’ were involved in a pay dispute with Ghana’s football association, a row which saw ended with the FA flying $3 million out to South America to appease the players.
The report also reveals he African side received $8m for their group-stage exit but spent almost $4m more than that on their campaign, including qualifying for Brazil.
Interestingly, it also highlights the fact the team’s official drummer was paid $ 5,263 for his services.
